Well, it looks like the site finally got a promising (for me) forum. I've been busy learning the ropes at my new job and house searching. Found a 2000 square foot house on an acre where I should be able to shoot in the backyard. Got a two car garage and a separate one car garage to set up my toolbox in, and the house is on a slab so I won't risk the gun safe falling through the floor. Speaking of which, I've already found a decent gun shop and visited the Denham Springs Bass Pro Shop. The yard is plenty big for any seafood boils or cookouts I might have. I'm currently eying a 100 quart stockpot. Problem with that size is that I might not be able to afford to fill it up. Cheap beer is not quite as cheap as Virginia, and Magic Hat and a few other favored brands of craft beers are not to be found, but Abita and Flying Dog have been tiding me over when I feel like something with some taste.
Been staying in the historic Fountain Motel, with porn on Channel 4 every evening and a used condom behind the second bed. Besides the drunk military guy with the guns in one room, the rest of the clientele seemed comprised of roofers from Texas.
Anyway, I should have internet by early January, and will pop in when I can. Let's see, I mentioned guns, shooting, beer, porn, and cooking out. Covers most of the redneck scheisse I can think of. Just to be on the safe side, the 4WD Jimmy is driving great (and straight, after an alignment), and the neighbor's dog should get along great with the four barefoot dirty children.
