Default Folding Cooks Knife, perfect for camping!

I was at the local gun show today and did nor see much of interest except for a large folding knife. I took one look at it and saw with a little fine tuning it would be a great folding cooks knife for the backpack. It cost me a whole $5. It's was a cheap Chinese thing with a nice thin 4.5 inch blade in a large handle with a liner lock. Fit and finish was poor to say the least, the wood scales were very porous, and the screws holding the on were a bit rusty. It also had a few sharp edges that needed to be rounded off. The blade steel is a soft stainless of some sort but it's pretty easy to sharpen and is good enough for food prep.

Right now the scales have been burned and wire brushed and soaked crazy glue and are drying. Att the screws have been polished and heat blued, the blade has bee reground wit a convex grind, and I knocke off all the sharp corners. If all goes well I should have it rebuild by tomorrow.

Oh yea, the brand is Timber Wolf and the model is the TW94 and can be found online for 4 bucks plus shipping.

Once I get it back together I will cook something up and give it a full review.

I will await your review. It looks like a decent project knife for your intended use. Also, I finally found a S&W Power Glide at the last show I went to.

    Cool, man.

Nothing like messing around with something you're not afraid to mess up.
