Right, because folks like sole (and me) really think nobody should have guns. I mean, do you read?

And don't even for a moment pretend that people like yourself fight to keep your guns because your constitutional rights are important to you.

Forgive me if I've turned this thread bitterly personal but once in a while I can't resist.

Gimme a fuckin' break, man. Really? You're going to use a stupid pop word like "sheeple" in this discussion? People who don't feel comfortable in a society that treasures monstrous tools are "sheeple"? People who are educated, considerate, protective of their fellows and have somewhere along the line arrived at the opinion that people who glorify guns are misguided and threatening are fucking sheep? I don't care what level of esteem you have for me and my kind, but you ought to be considerate of other gun owners, at least; you make them look retarded when you call on stupid shit like this.

I'd admire the irony in this if I was even slightly willing to believe it was intentional.

Yeah, here we go. Blasted liberals -- anything they can't put their dicks in they're afraid of. You say "fear based" as if it's a bad thing... I'm quite open and proud of the fact that people like you scare me. People like you scare me profoundly.

If you didn't, there'd be something wrong with me.

Sorry if we're pushy with our beliefs. You guys have, like, rifles and shit, so forgive us if we feel like we need to be a little pushy.

I don't even know what the hell this means, but I'd bet dollars to donuts (what an idiotic phrase) that it's some fucked-up, backwards prejudice against sex which is made doubly absurd by being said by someone who loves dearly the best compensatory device for sexual inadequacy ever invented.

You all lost me. Miller High Life and Youtube vids of the invasion have me in a very retrospective mood.

First of all, who takes themselves that seriously? I personally thought it was funny as hell when I realized my M9 bayonet would mount to my M590 shotgun. "The perfect close quarters weapon", I called it. Well over ten years later it still has yet to claim a life and it rarely leaves the safe. I still joke about stuff I have seen and done that would make most of you gag. Sad? Maybe. I still have my sanity (arguably) and am still capable of doing my job. I realize firearm ownership is a serious responsibility and conduct myself and my affairs accordingly. Taking lives in the line of duty is one thing. Doing so when it is unnecessary is another.

A bayonet on a pistol is a laugh for someone in my profession, even more so than one mounted on an M4 or similar carbine. If I were to be equipped with a pistol capable of mounting a bayonet I would buy it, mount it and lead my Soldiers into battle just to give them a story to pass down to their children. Humor (like beauty) is in the eye of the beholder. Some of us have to find humor in not only what we know but what we live.
