    Default Okay, joke's over

Where is everyone? I mean, usually my posts kill a thread, not a forum. Last post here was my own a few days ago. Smith, Syme, any comments? Anyone else?

New threads, new posts, anything? Must I resort to more drunken posts to increase activity? Or have I missed something:

Pot? Never tried it, and can't if I want to see my retirement plan. But I am debating making another:

Well I'm not a pothead or anything but I called in to work, it's raining, and I just happen to have a doobie put aside for a special occasion. Tonight seems like a special occasion.

I think I'll drink beer though and use the can as a makeshift smoking accessory.

Sheeiit, gotta throw the truck in auto 4WD now and make a b-double-e-double-r-u-n.

Or not, still have a few jiggers of Bacardi.

I was the designated driver a few times when my friends went to bars when I was under 21.... funny thing was I was almost certainly more fucked up than them on random drugs and was in no position to drive, but I was forced as I had not drank those nights.

the .50 BMG is a shitty anti personnel bullet

the .338 rum or .416 barrett is much better

Hahahah FutureWeapons.... "This is the .308, it is the standard round for the AK-47!" And he talks about how "the old-style" sniper rifles were single-shot bolt actions but the Barrett is different! And makes a big deal out of it's muzzle velocity.

Bowzer, do you mean they're more practical in terms of rifle weight, or more ballistically efficient, or what?

EDIT: Also, .338 RUM seems like a kind of random choice... it's a bear/moose/elk cartridge and it's mainly available in hunting rifles. I guess you can shoot your boss with a .338 RUM hunting rifle just as easily as with some other rifle, but any reason you chose it as an example of a good anti-personnel sniping round, instead of .338 Lapua or something like that?

Well I mean it would be nice as an anti-boss rifle though. Hitting someone with a .50 would be pretty neat to watch as well.

Hah yeah, it'd probably get the job done

EDIT: And fm, I'm around. I liked your thread about 20th century American military rifles, I just haven't gotten around to posting in here much recently. I think I might put up a corresponding thread about 19th-century American military rifles to go with yours.

If I was going for power I would just straight up use a 14.5mm rifle. Twice as powerful as a .50 BMG.

The .338 RUM and .338 Lapua are pretty close in terms of almost everything. I just said the RUM because I wouldn't mind having one in a model 700... actually was looking to buy one a bit ago. Well actually, the M24A3 chambers the Lapua... whatever. Basically the same difference.

And who said I wanted to shoot my boss?

Just in case. Might have needed it had I been foolish enough to drive. With the ditches around here, though, it wouldn't have helped.

    Yes, it is.

I know, just felt like creating some activity last night. Mucho Bier helped me make stupid posts and I woke this morning still wearing my PT uniform in my recliner with a bottle of rum spilled over my person. I'm going light tonight, PBR and pizza. Might need to run more tomorrow.

    War story:

April '03, Saddam Intl, on an LMTV outside the wall looking at the 12.7 and 14.5mm AA guns mounted around the preimeter. The wall was too high to see over and we didn't know if the expected enemy were there or not. I made sure to point out exactly what that 14.5mm round would do to the truck and ourselves. Scary stuff. Also, I've shared the story of inadvertently firing a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZPU-4 back then.

And once you get commissioned, call it fragging, not shooting your boss. UCMJ likes it better that way.

EDIT: Unless (EGADS!) you are going Guard. Then just frag yourself for being an officer and still having a civilian boss.

I'm around, I just haven't had much to post about lately.

That, and I don't know anything about service rifles, so I was kinda meh about the other thread.

    Good read, though.

Yeah I know and sadly ive met more officers that I would rather frag than follow.
