    Default So I Stole a Gun. . .

Ok, Ok, so I didn't really steal it, I paid for it, but I might as well have. I went to a small show last weekend not really planning on buying anything but sitting just a couple tables inside the door was this very nice looking Winchester 97 marked at 350, he came down to 325 and I snatched it up, I would have paid the 350 for it, These are going for around 500 on most auction sites.. Not 5 minutes later someone offered to buy it but I informed him that this one was going into the collection. I looked the serial number up and it came back 1925 which would put it about the middle of production, They were made from 1897 to 1957 ( I believe, might be wrong but I know it was some time in the 50's) Its take down, 12 Ga. full choke, The bluing is excellent on the barrel, not as good on the receiver but its got a nice patina to it, it has wear in all the right places and all and all is a pretty clean and solid gun. I always like the Model 97, I don't really know why, its just a cool looking gun. I think I got a pretty sweet deal on this ol' corn shucker.
