Ordered another AR-15 lower....

Well I decided I didnt want to use the Spikes Tactical lower for my SBR build since once I get it registered, I can never use another lower.

So I decided to get a more robust lower. I got one of these.

Got a really good price on it too. Picked it up for right under $200 on gun broker. I also plan on getting one of their uppers, and using that too. And Ill use my VLTOR upper for a 6.8 upper for hunting.

Today I got my Magpul MIAD and my Stag LPK. So once I get the lower in this week, then Ill be G2G.

I got a really low serial number too. So thats pretty cool also.

I kinda ended up making the same decision on my build. I like my Spikes lower and all, but I mean if I HAVE to invest $200 into something, I might as well go big or go home. So I decided my SBR build is going to be on a set of MEGA billets.

The build I was working on is nearly complete at this point though. I think I'm going for a Reecce style go-to-gun build. All I need to order is the barrel and rails and she's done. As it stands its like this:

LOWER:
Spikes lower
RRA LPK
KNS Pins
H buffer
Magpul MIAD
Magpul BAD
Magpul ASAP
Magpul MOE stock
BFG Redi-Mod

UPPER:
Spikes upper
Young NM BCG
BCM Gunfighter MOD 4 charging handle

The barrel is going to be a 14.5" with a pinned Vortex, and the rails are going to be a 12" DD lite. BUIS will be Troy, and optics probably and Aimpoint micro.

Despite the fact that I decided not to SBR it, I'm still very excited to finish it. I've invested a lot into this build and everything I've used is some of the best quality I can find. It's going to be a very nice rifle when its finished.

I was going to get a billet MEGA at first, then I found this one. They are both really nice lowers.

But Im going with the Black Rain upper.

My next one will probably be on those though.

Just ordered my barrel, FH, and gas block. For the barrel I decided to go with a YHM 14.5 carbine diamond fluted barrel. I just couldn't wait any longer to find a 14.5 middy in stock and didn't really want to have to go through sending a barrel away to get it cut/threaded. Plus, for the price I can't really go wrong. I went with a Smith Vortex for a FH and the gas block is just a regular ol' YHM low pro that was only $25.

Now all I have to do is rake up the cash for a DD 12.0 Lite rail and get it all assembled and shes finally done (well, shootable).
