    The upper and lower receiver on the Carbon 15 are made of polymer. AKA Plastic. Now its not a cheap plastic, but its still plastic. Ive seen and heard of them breaking on the threads for the barrel nut, the front pivot pin, and the threads for the buffer tube. Id stay away. You can build a budget AR for about that much.

    I saw horror stories about the Carbon when I first looked it up. From what I read, though, it sounds like as soon as Bushmaster started making it (taken over from Professional Ordnance) these problems were corrected, and Bushmaster has some pretty good service if it still fails.

    Id stay away. You can build a budget AR for about that much.
