Cool Apple Pie Baked in the Apple

Made these a few days ago and they are delicious! Here's the website for the recipe and instructions. This wouldn't be a good thread without actually trying the recipe and posting photos, so here's some photos!

    • 1 Teaspoon of Cinnamon

    • Pie Crust (Homemade or Pre-Made)

    Pre-Heat Oven to 375 Degree F.
That's the original recipe. Blueberries and raspberries were added because fruit is freaking delicious. The ice cream used is Breyer's Wild Cherry and Breyer's Snickers. I liked the Snickers over the Wild Cherry, but both were good.

Step 1: Cut off the top of 4 apples off and discard. Remove the inside of each apple with a spoon or melon baller very carefully, as to not puncture the peel.

Step 2: Remove skin from remaining apple(s) and slice very thinly. These apple pieces will give you the additional filling needed to fill the four apples you are baking.
Mix sliced apples with sugars and cinnamon in a bowl. If you prefer more or less cinnamon make adjustments as desired. Same goes for the sugar.
Scoop sliced apples into hollow apples.

Step 3: Roll out pie crust and slice into 1/4 inch strips. You can also add a strip of pastry inside the top of the apple almost like a liner to add a little more texture/sweetness to the pie.Cover the top of the apple in a lattice pattern with pie crust strips.

[LEFT][CENTER]Step 4: Place apples in an 8×8 pan. Add just enough water to the cover the bottom of the pan.
Cover with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and sliced apples are soft.

    Step 5: Enjoy!

Looks amazing. The thing that bugs me most about baking/cooking is having the right ingredients for everything . My kitchen has nothing, but oh well. It looks like it would be too sweet for me, just maybe.

On another note, I had a McDonalds apple pie yesterday.

I shared this with my professional baker friend though, so maybe I can come over her house and to this with her, as well as the oreo stuffed cookies that the blog also has .

That looks really good and pretty simple. What aisle did you find the rolled pie crust? I've never seen that before. Is it in the refrigerator section with the biscuit dough?

You should be able to find it by the cookie dough in the dairy section.
