    Default s̶o̶c̶c̶e̶r̶ Football

Come on then faggots, anyone follow the beautiful game?

I'm a Manchester United fan. Before you ask, yes it is only because they win. None of my family liked football so I jumped on the United bandwagon.

Post your teams and season predictions. Maybe we can get a credit betting racket going?

Not unless a highlight shows up on Deadspin.

I mean I was playing soccer twice a week before I hurt my knee last month, and slowly getting the rust off, but I just don't have much interest in watching games that don't impact me directly.

I don't follow it but I'll watch it sometimes. I tried after the World Cup to keep up with soccer but I failed. No one I know really cares about it. What helped me to watch, was learning some strategy so it didn't look like just a back and forth game.

    Needs more tackling.

I watch the major matchups in the EPL. I find MLS games pretty much unwatchable. I haven't really picked a club in the EPL, since it was going to be Stoke but they fucking suck. It's not like I have any allegiance to them, I'd rather watch the good teams than watch them suck it up. So for now, whenever MC, MU, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal play each other I watch the game. There's a big drop off between those teams and the rest of the league, so if they're not playing each other I just skip the week or watch MoTD.

I'm pretty much all caught up since I usually watch on delay. I just watched the MC vs. Arsenal game. That was a really good game. MC is not as dominant as they were a couple months into the season but they're still the class of the league.

Like a lot of people, the World Cup really turned me on to the sport. I watched every game of the knockout stage and I was hooked. After that I started watching the premier matchups in the EPL and the Champions League and never stopped. At the very least I see myself continuing to watch the really big matches.
I'm supposed to change my sig.

Most exciting end to a game this season tonight. Fulham 2 - 1 Arsenal after Fulham being losing 5 minutes before time.

Fulham were 15th in the league before the match. The best teams can often play the most boring football (not always though...)

It was luck more than anything. The wind caught the ball and caught the opposition keeper off guard. It was a long way out and an accurate kick to be fair, but not really that amazing.

If anyone cares, today the FA cup hfeatures a Manchester derby. Special in its own right, especially now City are a real force.

But today Paul Scholes has come out of retirement to play for United for the rest of the season and starts on the bench. Today could be magical.

The game had pretty much everything, but it was scrappy and tense. Much excitement but not much class.

I forgot this thread existed. I will post here more I promise sailor jack.

I didn't see the manc derby game but I caught highlights. Kompany red was ridiculous, ruined the game it seems. Watched Liverpool v Man City tonight, fucking boring game. Liverpool parked the bus for pretty much 70 minutes, was terrible.

It was only ridiculous because he brought his other foot up. He didn't need to to win the tackle and the rules say two feet off the ground is a red card. It was a very technical sending off, but the rules are there to be followed.

I am playing soccer in the morning. I haven't touched a ball since I hurt my knee 6 weeks ago, but I did start running again last week, so I assume I will score 3000 goals and not be invited to come back

It was 29 so under your limit.

And I scored a hat trick, one on a breakaway through ball and two putting in garbage in front of the goal on crosses. I also got robbed by the post and the crossbar, and kneed a guy in the nuts, so I feel like it was a productive day for Atmosfear Rooney.

(I didn't actually nut check anyone I mean come on in a pickup game r u fkn srs?

I notice this thread has been inactive for a while, but with the new seasons approaching over here in Europe it might be good to get some discussion going.

Predictions for the big leagues in Europe (England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France)?

F.C. Dallas in the conference semis. All is right.
