    Default Champions League (16th/17th September)

Just a quick thread before I head to the pub... I saw the Liverpool game last night and felt they were lucky to get away with a draw, let alone a win... Marseille are seriously good on the counter-attack. Gerrard's goal was awesome though. And Chelsea, heh, can't argue with 4-0.

Any thoughts about last night's matches? And what about tonight's?

After our recent performances I wouldn't be surprised if United get a draw or worse tonight. Hopefully Ronaldo coming back will spice things up a bit.

EDIT: Bit of a shit line up. Hardly the best midfield ever.
Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Nani, Hargreaves, Fletcher, Park, Rooney, Tevez.
Subs: Foster, Brown, Ronaldo, Anderson, Giggs, Vidic, O'Shea.

Another frustrating draw for United. Good to see Arsenal draw too though.

Liverpool's play was atrocious in the second half, we weren't keeping possesion and the subs that were made didn't do anything to change that fact.

    Utd drawing makes me happy.

Man Utd drawing doesn't really bother me...and I'm a fan.

I was watching Villareal and they were just spot on. Chelsea and Real Madrid would have drawn or lost to them, in my opinion.

Villareal had one good patch where they pinged the ball around nicely but apart from that they weren't impressive at all... Man Utd should have beaten them easily but seemed to lack a bit of cutting edge after the final pass.

And yeah Liverpool were pretty rubbish but hey they're winning games.

I thought United played great but lacked the finishing touch. We should have scored a few in that game but as usual, we make it hard for ourselves. Same as always.

I'm not looking forward to the Chelsea game too much. Either we pull our socks up or I can seeing us losing by 3 or 4 goals. I'm counting on Ronnie to shine though. The Chelsea game was our turning point last year, our first game to score more than 1 goal. I'm hoping for something similar this season.

I can see what you mean. Ronaldo's header to the back post. Tevez slanting in, delaying, and letting the defender get it.

    Yes, it's frustrating.

I fully understand soccer, my friends are huge soccer nerds which is probably why I hate it so much, but I know a shit ton about soccer

The Lyon/Fiorentina match was pretty exciting, as far as soccer games go

Haha, once again Celtic get beat on the road. They just cannot win away in Europe. Good win for Man Utd.

Hey, Man U managed a win today. Yay.

I kind of wanted Zenit St. Petersburg to knock down Real Madrid and for Celtic to take it away from Villareal.
