    Not a depression.

But no, they weren't a terrible team this year in spite of their record. They just couldn't close. Look at how good they did against the Colts for instance. They did better than a Vince Young led B-team Titans against the B-team Colts(which isn't saying much, but it is saying something).

With a quarterback who doesn't suck combined with Calvin Johnson and Kevin Smith (who would be a threat if any team was ever concerned about the Lions' passing game) they can go 4-12.

Reccession. Either way, the industry of the city is in a bad bad way.

And they had a close game or two, but the 1-15 Dolphins were more than 1 game better than these Lions. Those Dolphins PLAYED close games. Detroit didnt. Detroit got blown out very early, and teams just ran. And ran. And ran.

Their O-Line stinks. Their Running game stinks. They need a Tight End. They have no pass rush. Their interior D-Line is terrible. Their Linebacking core is OK at best. Their defensive backfield is terrible.

This team needs more than a Quarterback. And it needs more than Stafford who will probably need 2-3 years to develop into an NFL Quarterback.

Feel free to evaluate them and prove me wrong. I welcome it.
