Yeah I'm hoping I get thrown some cannon fodder for my first fight, looking for the knock out as I invited like 20 people to come watch(horrible idea for my first one lol).
Did you record any of your fights? I love watching amateur fights, people tend to go at it harder because they have nothing to lose.

Nah they don't let us video tape unless both fighters are 18. I'll be 18 in april though, and before I hit the Marines I wanna get in a good amateur fights.
Good luck on your first fight, tell us how it goes.

    That sucks.
Yeah I'll probs have a video up. Since I don't turn 18 til July I'm not even gonna worry about fighting ammy in PA. Hopefully I'll get into BU and I'll start training up at Delagrotte's and fight out of there.
Can't wait to get the fuck out of PA and get to a city with some legit gyms around. Not saying my gym isn't legit, but we don't have any high level pro fighters in the area. Except Matt Riddle when he's back in the area, but that's not often.

I gotcha. I actually met Jens Pulver down at the NJ shore last summer. He was with some asian chick.
All my friends where watching us but none of them had the balls to just go up to him like i did.
I was fooling around with him and I asked him if he'd spar with me and he put his hands up lmao, but then he pat me on the shoulder and was like "nah dude i'm not gonna embarres you in front of all your friends."

in total i spent about 5 minutes with him and he was REALLY chill, actually.

Yeah I heard Jens was a real great guy.
I met Jon Jones and called him out at a grappling tournament lol. He wouldn't spar me though, he's like "nah man I don't wanna get beat up by a kid it'll hurt my street cred". He was really cool haha.

A bit early, but I just can't wait for the Penn vs Sanchez fight. Both these guys are great on their feet and Diego always puts on a great show.

I'd be rooting for Sanchez, but I'm cool with whatever happens. I do see Penn winning on the floor somehow since he is I believe the person with the best ground game.

I'm gonna say Penn takes that one via first round KO.
Sanchez isn't a good striker. His striking works because striking in MMA sucks. He throws fast, he throws hard and he keeps throwing which overwhelms a lot of people early. Still he shows rudimentary striking technique, throwing set combinations and almost never cuts angles. Hell, even Clay Guida managed to start to figure out his striking in the third round of their fight and started countering him.
BJ Penn on the other hand, is a world class striker. He's not just some heavy handed MMA guy. From the mouth of Freddie Roach himself, Penn has the best pure boxing skills in MMA. If there is one thing Roach knows, it's boxing. And coming from someone who has trained with both Anderson Silva and Andrei Arlovski, that is a hell of a statement.
So yeah, this is an exciting match up, but if you really look at it Sanchez has no way in hell of winning. Going to be a dominating performance from the Prodigy. If Sanchez is smart he won't try his usual strategy of swarming with strikes. His best bet IMO is to try to EXPLOSIVELY get the takedown. None of that wearing him down against the cage shit, that won't work unless you're GSP. Penn's known for an airtight, methodical BJJ game while Sanchez excels in scrambles. I'd say Sanchez's only real chance is to try and create scrambles up against the cage and try and secure some dominant positioning.

I didn't get to see the fight but I heard. Sounds interesting, Machida keeps the belt but the UFC gets to see some real Shogun (as if people thought Liddell's KO wasn't enough).

I just think it's so ridiculous... I mean first of all Shogun won that fight. You can't even argue by any shot that he lost, the Fight Metric alone should be enough(shogun out struck machida nearly 2 to 1). It was a close fight, but Shogun consistently landed more and hit a lot harder. He was visibly damaging Machida, who mentally broke down around the 3rd round. Even when they were announcing the winner Machida had his head hung as if he lost, and when they said his name he was genuinely shocked.
Here you have a guy who no one gave a chance to win and has been injured for years come back and beat the seemingly invincible champion, only to be robbed of the decision by the judges. I can't even imagine how pissed off Shogun is right now.
Probably the worst part about all of this is Machida will probably win the rematch. Machida was cocky before this fight, Shogun woke him up and showed him every hole in his defense that he needs to work on. Machida will make adjustments to his game and probably win next time and Shogun will never get the belt which he should be wearing right now. This shit pisses me off.
Also... we just missed out on Anderson Silva v. Shogun

So rashad is going to beat rampage. And UFC hates Roy Nelson so they set him to fight Junior Dos Santos, though they should have let Cain kick his ass. Comments?

I don't care who wins the Rampage/Evans fight, I really hope that they end each others careers and we never have to see either of them again.

How could you say that they are 2 of the top contenders in LHW. And I hope Rashad beats rampage. I like rampage but I see it as Rashad being the underdog against the big bully. I lost respect for rampage on TUF10

Im so happy BJ Penn is getting the rematch he deserves against frankie edgar. He was completely ROBBED of his title. Judge's decisions are really starting to piss me off lately. Frank won 1 MAYBE 2 rounds. And that one judge scored it 50-45 in favor of frank, what the fuck someone pay him off or what?

I lost respect for both of them during TUF 10. I also refuse to watch that staged garbage from here on out.

On a side note, Penn got slaughtered in that fight, stop whining about it.

    Since the last post here
BJ lost to Frankie again and then lost to Nick Diaz and retired.
    Nick Diaz, Condit, GSP debacle.
    Fedor lost 3 straight.
Jon Jones decided to walk through the LHW division.
    Dominic Cruz beat Urijah Faber.
Frankie Edgar beat BJ and had 2 matches with Gray Maynard (a draw and an immediate rematch; KO win)
Anderson Silva is still tearing it up (but I think he is avoiding Chael, yeah I'm buying into his trash talk)
Cain raped Brock for the title.
JDS beat Cain for the title.
Let's bring some life back to this thread!
