There's my hope. I like the story.

Good luck, my money's on the Steelers.
my prediction is still good
AZ 23, Pitt. 20
Go Cards
27 to 23 with 5 seconds on the clock. Your prediction has fell through
That game amounted to more shitty reffing than all of Ed Hoculi's errors this season.
FHUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCK! The Stee.ers. That is all.

No doubt the Steelers won that one, but the ref's sucked; pretty equally for each team though.
I put $1 into a pool with the bet Steelers 27 Cardinals 24. I won the pot, muahahaha! $5 is mine
Big spender, inorite?
Even 12 hours later, I am still upset by the outcome of the game. Arizona made an amazing turnaround in the last quarter, but our shitty fucking defense let the Steelers have the game with that last touch down.
Fucking humiliating, at least for me.
You would've been banned from #flames for saying that in front of Jiffy and I.
In the 4th quarter alone we had:
Roughing the passer penalty on a play that should've been ruled intentional grounding anyways. I mean it's obvious he was trying not to blow up Roethlisberger, is he supposed to stop trying to get a sack, too? He was fucking scrambling for Christ's sake.
Unnecessary Roughness for stumbling into the holder on the FG. I understand that you can't hit the kicker/punter under any circumstances, so you stumble into the holder in an attempt to avoid that and get the penalty? Are they supposed to stop trying to block kicks now, too?
James Harrison should've been thrown out of the game for his unnecessary roughness penalty on the Arizona punt. End of story. I like Harrison and he's an awesome player, but you can't beat on a guy and call it a block. Also, way to try to even it out, refs: fuck Arizona on the previous defensive stand left and right, then call a half-yard personal foul.
Willie Parker didn't even come CLOSE to getting out of the end zone; if it was a Cardinal play, he'd have had forward progress stopped in the endzone, no review, safety.
And then the incomplete pass to end the game doesn't even get a review?
I think the defensive holding call involving Hines Ward might have been questionable as well, but God knows NBC won't show the replay of the penalty, just the replay of the dead-ball pass.
Chalk another one up for Defense Wins Championships, though.
Atmosfear, you could have made in officiating complaint, but all of the penalties you complained about did not have anything to do with the outcome of the game.
1. He was out of the pocket, and it would have been called roughing the passer on any quarterback
2. The Steelers did nothing with those extra four downs and kicked a field goal anyway
3. Stuff like that happens all the time, and kicking Harrison out at that point wouldn't have affected anything anyway
4. The Cardinals ended up getting a safety anyway
5. That play should have been reviewed, but best case scenario they would have had to throw a ludicrous hail mary pass that the Steelers would have been all over
6. I don't remember that one
Mr E they would have been on the 30ish with 7 secs left
But they would have had to throw a touchdown with 5 (cause there would have been 5) seconds left, no timeouts, and the NFL's #1 defense running prevent.
So get the call right and give them a fucking chance. From the 30-40 yard line does not have to be a hail mary. What percent of the time do you think they complete this play? If you agree that it is over 1% (I could see it being somewhere around 10-12% personally) then how can you say the terrible call didn't affect the outcome?
Mr. E I think you are forgetting that Fitzgerald is a fucking monster and in the endzone he has a damn good chance of coming up with the ball even with multple people around. If they loaded up fitz they have boldin who is also nasty. they had a decent chance of scoring there. that was a fucking incomplete pass and it's bullshit that they didn't really review it. I mean they said it was being reviewed but then it was like nope done already game over.
I realize this, but I still think the Steelers would have won anyway.
But then again I hate the Cardinals so who knows?
Also, I don't really hate the Cardinals, I just hate Kurt Warner.
Uh, bullshit. He was shifting in the pocket, and whoever the defender was obviously let up to avoid tanking Roethlisberger. That wasn't a roughing call, that was a hose (just like every spectator and analyst agreed.) Instead of loss of down and a penalty (or at least loss of down) on third down, it's an automatic first. Costing three point which ended up winning the game.
They took an extra 2 minutes off the clock.
Is that a joke? He's the #1 pass rusher in the NFL and, OH YEAH, Arizona played 2 possessions with Harrison on the field.
And lost 40 seconds in the process.
If you add all the other errors together, they would've been kicking a 50 yard FG to win. And if they don't deserve a review because it required a hail mary, why not just end every game with :05 left?
It was on the Steelers' game-winning drive.
He was out of the pocket, that I know for sure. John Madden drew lines and everything.
Harrison did nothing of note for the rest of the game.
Parker got the ball out of the end zone. Madden said so.
I said it should have been reviewed. I didn't say it shouldn't have been reviewed.
I remember the defensive holding call now, and it was pretty blatant.
In the end, it doesn't matter anyway. Steelers win, I am happy, you are sad.
The fact that you referenced Madden twice nullifies any legitimacy of your argument.
I love John Madden with all my heart and soul. He's like the old dog who continuously runs into the glass door because he wants to go outside and just doesn't know any better.
That is a pretty accurate statement about madden.
And as usual you display you are an idiot because that's not even the same fucking play.
You obviously never played football. Just because he didn't generate a stat line doesn't mean he wasn't picking up 2+ blockers on every play.
By the same token, Madden also said the Roughing penalty was bullshit. Of course, the difference is the world agrees with him on the penalty and no one agrees on the safety.
Yes, blatant is the name of the game inside 5 yards.
The only reason I'm sad is because NFL officiating has consistently gotten worse as replay has become a greater and greater part of the game.
It was no less than 8 yards down the field on the holding call.
I do suppose we are talking about different plays on the roughing/I.G.
I did play football, and yeah I know what you are saying, but I mean it would be different if he intercepted a ball after that or something.
I agree with Madden on the safety, and so did the refs.
Officiating has gotten worse, but it is a part of the game. If the Cardinals really wanted to win they wouldn't have committed so many retarded legitimate penalties.
except i wasnt talking about me, i was talking about the proper noun I
The biggest penalty error of the game hasnt been picked up on anyone.
Santonio Holmes used the ball as a prop in his TD celebration. 15 Yard Penalty. I like Arizona's chances with 2 TO's left 15 yards further down the field. That, inside the last few minutes of a Superbowl is the kinda thing that HAS to be called. Whether you like the rule or not, the fact of the matter is, it is a rule, so it should have been called.
