I don't have a link, but they just said it on ESPN.
This is a sad day for me...but it's not unexpected.
Maybe the Cowboys will pick up Marvin Harrison to be the #2 now.

The Cowboys need a deep threat, Roy Williams plays good over the top and on medium routes, but he's not exactly a burner. Marvin hasn't been a Viable deep threat in 2-3 years.
I personally think this was the best move the Cowboys could have made. It finally showed that Jerry is willing to listen to people and cut those who cause problems. Anyone who says this moron isn't a trouble maker really does have their nose so far up his backside its ridiculous. Tearing a team apart once, Ok maybe poor judgement. Tearing a team apart twice, ok I think we may have a problem. Doing it a third time by bitching out your franchise Quarterback and the best recieving tight end in the league, go home Mr Owens, you're a jackass.
Plus he is 35! Who wants 9 million in cap space in each of the next 2 years in a reciever that old!
There is no way the Cowboys are signing Marvin Harrison, they'd be better off using what they have behind Owens now than getting Harrison. As Nauticat said, the Cowboys need a deep threat, and that Marvin Harrison is no longer.
I disagree on the age thing though. 35 is the new football 32, plus Owens' numbers for last year are deceptive. Defenses were building their game plan around TO, so you have to add to his numbers the distraction that he created to create other openings. He's better than Harrison anyway. I have no idea who is going to pick him up. I think San Fran is probably his best bet, because they need a good wide receiver and I think Singletary is one coach who could keep TO in check.
I think for the first time in my life I will speak on behalf of an NFL front office. No way in Hell is San Fransisco having TO back.
I think his best bet it the Saints. They could always do with another thread, they are already a contender, and they have a QB with enough clout to get him inline.
Don't be sad Mr. Kass, it's not like they took a real loss by cutting TO. If anything it'll be good for the team. Oh well not that I read Nauticat's post, that pretty much sums it up.

Nowhere for TO to go but Oakland
The Saints always a contender? They have no defense and their division is too strong, I wouldn't consider them a contender at all.
Jake Delhomme gets injured, the Panthers are done. Matt Ryan could have a sophomore slump. The Bucs are rebuilding. I have the Saints down as one of my Wild Card's to go deep into the playoffs. No one knows what can happen.
The Defense will improve, especially with Ellis improving like he has done. Plus, Colston, Shockey, Moore, TO and Reggie catching the ball? Yes please.
Shockey is worthless, but no one is saying they aren't an offensive powerhouse. However, even if their division were to become terrible all of a sudden (which won't happen [except with the Bucs]) they will just end up losing 44 to 45 against the teams outside of their division if they play a team with no defense, and if they play a team with a decent defense they won't stand a chance.
Shockey has the potential to be his old self.
I have always had a soft spot for the Saints to be honest.
Teams that could be thinking about TO:
Chicago Bears
Minnesota Vikings
Cincinnatti Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Baltimore Ravens
New York Giants (Stranger Things Have Happened)
Washington Redskins (My new pick!)
New York Jets
Jacksonville Jaguars
Tennessee Titans
New Orleans Saints
St Louis Rams
Oakland Raiders
These are the teams that both need TO, and COULD be brave enough to make an offer.
Did they say why he was released? I haven't kept up on the offseason like I usually do.
No Official reason, but word coming from the FO is that Jerry Jones finally started listening to the people he pays to know about football. He was told hundreds of times that the team would be better off without him. Hell, even Mr Jessica Simpson said he didnt want him back.
What? really? Last I heard he was doing really well and getting along with everyone.
Good for the Cowboys. I know if I was an owner of a team I wouldn't want him on the team with all the shitty publicity and his attitude towards his teammates. I hope nobody signs him.
You're right. Especially about last year's numbers. They finally learned that jamming T.O. on the line is how you defend him
I'm not sad. I'm looking forward to it.
A la Randy Moss?
Do you pay attention?
1. Al Davis can't even remember back when he had Randy Moss. If you think they will learn from mistakes, you are wrong.
2. If Jerry fucking Jones has given up on you, then you're done. There are only 3 teams dumb enough to make a move here: Dallas, Oakland, and Detroit. Dallas just cut him.
Detroit really doesn't have much to lose and has a shot of getting him at a discount (also the Roy Williams trade turns out pretty fucking lol.) They still don't have anyone throwing to him, though.

That's my article on this issue. It's not as thought out as my other one because it was thrown together quickly.
Chicago, Minnesota, and Tennessee have already said no
If TO is signed by the beginning of Training Camp, I will be stunned.
If TO is Signed by the draft, I will lose faith in the sanity of humanity.
And Detroit won't go anywhere near him. Schwartz would rather have a half decent rookie than TO, he doesnt take crap from anyone. The organisation was so poorly run for so long, they wont make any moves this risky for several years.
I still go with my Washington Redskins pick.
Oh man, Calvin Johnson on one side, TO on the other, Matt Stafford throwing, that could be nasty
Also, I don't think the Redskins will work. I don't imagine Portis or Moss are going to be willing to put up with TOs shit, and if Portis and Moss aren't happy the Redskins are in trouble.
Nah, Keyshawn Johnson said it at like 2 o' clock this morning.
TO will NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER ever ever ever ever become a Packer.
The most likely place for TO in the NFC north is Chicago.
Chicago already said they're out
He got picked up by Buffalo. Which is great because I fucking hate Buffalo.
I am the kinda guy who will admit when he is wrong. And boy o boy I was wrong on this one!
Buffalol
That was a weird choice.
The fact he has chosen a Small Market, cold weather, run first team with a 1 year contract makes me think he had no other options.
Buffalo hasnt had a Pass offense in the top 20 in like 8 years, partly due to the cold weather. I cannot wait until TO gets his playbook and realises that this is a power running team and he wont get the ball nearly as much as he would in Dallas. I also cannot wait until the Bills are out of playoff contention by week 10 and he kicks off.
I wouldn't be surprised if he retired next year if he puts up low numbers this year
