Week 1 predictions, anyone?

Big games:

#14 Oregon @ #16 Boise State: Boise State is going to dominate an overrated Oregon team and use that to fuck up the BCS (as usual.) I hope they end up playing Oklahoma again.

#13 Georgia @ #9 Oklahoma State: Defense wins the game for Georgia. Pokes' offense is outstanding in a defensively laughable conference, but Georgia returns more starters from the #2 2007 Sugar Bowl champion team from injury than it lost this year on defense. It's gonna be ugly like the Georgia-LSU game last year, and will make for great TV.

Missouri @ Illinois: Illinois ought to be ranked this year. They should be rolling Missou who had a suspect defense last year and have since lost their offensive playmakers (fat Chase Daniels and Jeremy Maclin.)

#20 BYU @ #3 Oklahoma: Oklahoma has this game on paper, but we all know how Big Game Bob likes to blow it against non-BCS opponents. I won't go so far as to predict the upset, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.

#5 Alabama vs. #7 Virginia Tech (Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA): Roll tide. Losing their best playmaker on offense (Evans) pretty much doomed Va Tech to underperform. I still think they'll go on to win the ACC, but don't expect Beamer Ball to beat an Alabama team that will play conservative on offense with a new QB and simply doesn't turn the ball over. Also, Julio Jones is a fucking dynamo (the best sophomores in the country all wear the number 8.)

Maryland @ #12 Cal: I'll call the Maryland upset because I don't think Cal deserves the #12 ranking. As usual, voters are bull on the Pac-10 pre-season, but Cal never delivers. Maryland isn't a great team, but I think they can hang in the game with Cal and seeing Cal lose will never surprise me.

#11 LSU @ Washington: UDubb has no chance in this game, but it's going to be interesting to watch the QB play for LSU. I'm not buying Jarrett Lee leading them through a tough SEC schedule this year (@Georgia, @Alabama, @Ole Miss, vs Florida), but Charles Scott ought to run through UDubb like shit through a goose.

Miami @ #18 Florida State: As long as it doesn't come down to the kicking game, FSU should handle Miami, but I want to watch the QB play.
