    I agree, in theory, but it's not always that simple.

    I think he'd be better off in social settings. But he may be in social settings outside of school that we just don't know about, and even if he's not, I'm not claiming any level of expertise to be able to judge the family on how they've brought up the kid.

    Yeah, I agree. And it also depends on how high functioning - or not - he is in social situations. "Normal" social interactions might do him more harm than good depending on how severe his autism is.

    Unless he was acting like an ass on purpose, there's obviously something wrong with his ability to socialize if he acts like this at 13 years old, and people aren't going to be like, "Oh, he just has autism! Let's let him act like a total asshole to us and enjoy it!"
