See I think the exact opposite. While I still like #5 a little better, I think 5 was catchier and funnier, whereas this one was much more musical and better sounding, in my opinion.

I agree with Shiny - I think the music is actually improved for #6, but #5 is far funnier.

yeah, but someone like katie couric or the "it's the smoke" guy from ATTN #5 are a lot easier to auto-tune, because their speech is a lot more melodic, more performative. sycld's right about the correlation.

he's also right that republicans seem to say more outlandishly hilarious (read: incredibly depressing if thought about too much) things

newscasters and politicians tend to be more melodic because the foundation of good public speaking is not being monotonic.

no no you misunderstand -- i mean, that's true, but it's not the same as saying their voice more lends itself to be autotuned

it doesn't matter what tone someone's speech is when you run it through an autotune, but the vocal quality and timbre and all those kinds of things make the difference

but too much of it and you just look silly (see entry: katie couric)

oh, because they actually have a speaking voice with resonance and projection? That helps, it's true, but you can literally autotune anything - moreover, once you have it autotuned, you can run that through a synthesizer and play their words as any notes you want to. I think, though, that relying on that too heavily put you on very thin ice
