Those kinds of punishments only work on those who fear getting in trouble with their parents or have a sense that staying after school or home from school is such a horrible thing. so when children aren't listening to their parents, the police should be called in to arrest them?

i think that discipline should be enforced in the classroom, but to get the police in on what is clearly a civil matter is absurd.
