Syme has a good point. Another thing that hasn't been brought up is the need for route planning with excessively large and heavy loads. Some bridges and even roadways aren't designed for 100-plus ton loads. I'm sure there would have been much more press had this driver wrecked or injured someone else.
Even regular truck drivers need to plan their routes. I've seen numerous tractor-trailers tying up traffic when they realize they are too tall for an overpass, including one during rush hour on Rt. 110 in Arlington. There's a reason why moving a house or other structure requires months of planning, closed roads and multiple escorts.
