Thread: Woman found dead in her flat FIVE YEARS after passing away.

Horrified police officers discovered her corpse after a man living below reported water dripping through his ceiling.

Cops had to wade through a mass of mail on the floor after forcing their way in.

Tests are being carried out on the body — thought to be Isabella Purves, who would have been 90 this year. Last night, locals said they hadn’t seen the OAP since she “disappeared off the face of the Earth” in 2004.

Stunned neighbour Cleo Gifford, 34, said nobody had visited tragic Isabella in 18 YEARS.

She added: “It was a wee shame. She was always cleaning, and would go hiking. She was very fit and only became frail in later years.”

Isabella’s next-door-neighbour in Bellevue, Edinburgh, who did not want to be named, said: “A cop told me she’d been dead since at least 2005.”

He said he hadn’t noticed a smell until officers opened the door of the flat, believed to be owned by Isabella, on Tuesday. It’s thought bills continued to be paid by direct debit after her death.

And the neighboring was keeping such close tabs on the traffic in and out of this woman's apartment that she would know exactly how many years it had been since her last visitor? That's a bit odd.
