All this sounds like the universe is thinking and doesn't want the LHC. If there were, for instance, a specific physical process forbidden which prevented this from working that could be understood by a paradox formed from having the production of a Higgs boson in the future, that's one thing. But if random shenanigans happen, like people getting arrested or completely random pieces of equipment malfunctioning, then it's hard to believe that it's because the universe is "consciously" preventing the Higgs boson from being detected...

It's just that it merely seems like the project is jinxed, just like the space telescope did at its inception as well. The problems with it were numerous and extremely demoralizing, but it was eventually functioning, and no one said it was because the universe didn't want us to use it.
