Maybe these soccer moms should consider how they're living in housing developments with no sidewalks and nothing in walking distance of their houses other than a hellish wasteland of houses identical to theirs so their children have little motivation or reason to walk.
Or how they all won't let their children leave the house because they're all so paranoid that their children will be abducted as though childhood abductions have spiked in numbers even though all that's risen is parental paranoia.
Yes, refined sugar is downright poisonous, I'll admit it. But kids drank chocolate milk for most of the last century without outbreaks of childhood obesity. While our "knowledge" of nutrition science is increasing, our food is degrading in quality and nutrition. More importantly, the amount of physical activity is decreasing.
Frankly, American diets weren't great to being with. Polynesians are a great example of this: they were sexy before they adopted American diets in the early to mid 20th century. Afterwards, they became huge overnight. I'm just saying that things were bad enough before even though we didn't have such a huge epidemic of obesity, and now we're only making them worse and pushing ourselves way over the edge. And as convenient a scapegoat for brain-dead parents it is, chocolate milk isn't what's causing the problem.
