Probably because Atmosfear is the journalist. If he wasn't the journalist someone would have counter-claimed immediately.
If Atmosfear isn't the journalist, then the the real journalist blew it because waiting too long to counter-claim just makes you look guilty. If Atmosfear isn't the journalist, the real journalist should still counter-claim now but shouldn't be surprised when he gets lynched. He should still counter-claim now so we aren't fooled into believing Atmosfear is innocent for the entire game.
Brilliant observation. If there was no contest about his character then should we rally behind Atmosfear?
