Half Indian, half South and Central Italian. Apparently some Northern Italians have eaten cats during certain periods of their history, as is suggested by the surname "Pelagato" ("skin a cat", or "cat-skinner") and how people from Venice and nearby cities are called "mangiagati" ("eat cats," or "cat-eaters").
Also, during WWII, food was scarce in Rome, but feral cats were abundant, so the solution was obvious...
And in the southern region of Puglia, people still eat horse meat. I found it served on the menus in restaurants.
But I would never, ever eat that little cutey-pie
