First, I didn't say you were "in the business of breeding dogs". I said that every dog that you breed and sell is taking a spot that another unwanted dog could have had.

Second, you went on to say (quoted below) that you sold one of the puppies you bred. So, you're a not-a-professional-breeder who makes money selling dogs you've bred. Gotcha.

If you take offense to the term "breeder" for someone who is breeding and selling dogs, then by all means, educate us mere simpletons about proper nomenclature. Otherwise, quite whining about semantics. Or, at least quit contradicting yourself.

I'm sure they're delightful. I'm also sure there are plenty of delightful pit bulls available from rescues and shelters. Go to petfinder and type in pit bull and your zip code. You're sure to find that one of the hundreds of animals that come up meets your rigorous standards of canine quality.

Here's a quote from a web site dedicated to pit bulls:
It is estimated that up to 200 Pit Bulls are killed EVERY DAY in Los Angeles County, CA, shelters alone because there are not enough homes for them. Imagine the number across the entire United States...

Every year over 20 million animals end up homeless. Over 15 million of them are killed (euthanized is the nice term) in dog shelters. Roughly 30% of impounded pets are reclaimed, adopted or rescued. The remaining 70% are destroyed. Many more die from disease, starvation, animal attacks and cars! Anyone who sees these statistics must agree that not neutering an animal is irresponsible!
    Here's some more:
"The pit bull population has now risen to 40% of all the dogs in 12 shelters in Los Angeles. THAT MEANS THAT ALMOST HALF OF THE ENTIRE LOS ANGELES DOG POPULATION IS PITS OR PIT MIXES!
    And finally:
Each homeless pit bull that dies in the street or sits hopeless in a shelter is the product of a breeder, either intentionally or accidentally...

Anyone who cares about these dogs should try to save a homeless pit bull before adding more dogs to a completely saturated market.

This is a plea to those of you thinking about breeding pit bulls - please take a look at our database of homeless dogs and think again
    ...
    [Emphasis added]

Wrong - if you're breeding, YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING to the homeless animal population. It ain't rocket surgery.

You know, those ugly ass half breeds tend to live longer, healthier lives than the oh-so-special inbreds you favor. And what happened to that "soft spot in [your] heart for abandoned animals"? Is abandoned another word for retarded half-breed? These words you keep using ... I don't think they mean what you think they mean.

Yeah, that's probably it. But do me a favor - volunteer at a pound for a day or two per week for 6 months. Hold a few unwanted dogs in your arms while some underpaid county vet tech kills each one because some asshole dumped it at the shelter once the novelty wore off, or because some other breed is more fashionable now. Or help nurse an emaciated dog from a puppy mill back to health, only to see it put down because it's not perfect enough to get adopted by any of the people who want designer animals with "papers". Then you can come back and tell me what a pussy I am.

These dogs are the center of attention when I take them out. They are impressive.
Now who's getting worked up over something trivial? What are these big, sleek, powerful dogs compensating for, exactly?

Keeping it classy, I see. And such wit, too. Everyone knows better than to argue with you on the internet now.
