I mean i can live on $10 a day not counting rent.
$5 on weed, pass by my moms and raid the fridge, and maybe get something to eat again later.

I have lived on far less than $10 a day in the past. However, that does not include rent/mortgage, utilities and other bills, which add up to far more than $10 per day. There are times where I will make a point to see how little I can spend on food. A 50-cent box of spaghetti makes two meals, a $1 loaf of bread with cheap peanut butter makes numerous meals.
As for charity, I donate to a different one each year through the Combined Federal Campaign. Not too much, but I think I am currently giving $10 or $20 per month. As bills are paid off and I receive pay increases, I gradually step up my contributions. Most people will only donate $1 per month, but even that adds up considering nearly every federal employee and service member donates.
