No, it's a direct compliment. A vicarious compliment implies it's only a compliment insofar as he identifies or empathises with his girlfriend, which he doesn't appear to as he is a bit jealous and needy really, whilst in fact the compliment mostly lies in someone finding something that he has (admittedly implausibly) attained attractive. Your advice remains intact, though.

I meant vicarious in that he has never meant the cunts who hit on his whore of a girlfriend. It's a direct compliment to her, and a compliment to him through her, thereby making it vicarious IMO.

Also, he's probably a 14 year old emotard who met her on the internets and never in real lifes.
