It's not a bad movie but it's not great, either. And there's some debate as to whether to movie counts as zombies, because the book decidedly doesn't.

According to the book:

some are corpses reanimated by a germ, which have scientific explanations for all of the vampiric symptoms (stakes, crosses, garlic, sunlight, etc.) Others are infected by the germ but have found a "cure" that allows them to continue living sentient lives with only some of the symptoms.

In the movie, though, these are largely downplayed to make them more like sunlight-fearing zombies.
