she and atmosfear are getting uppity about a choice the storytellers have made, for no reason. i'm on the show's side when it comes to a round of pointless criticism; maybe it's the writer in me

edit: if it's an innocent "gahh i am so curious about this if they don't tell me i'll explode" like i have with richard alpert than i withdraw my dickishness, but certainly in atmosfear's case it was pretty aggressive criticism

Atmosfear's criticism about time travel is stupid, uninformed and biased, I agree but you're jumping down KT's throat for no good reason.

(i meant atmosfear's criticism about the name of jacob's nemesis, that's why i linked them)

i think a name would only diminish his character. at the moment, anyway. jacob was "jacob" before we met him. a lot of his character is wrapped up in his name. similarly, a lot about evilocke is wrapped up in his not having a name.

I suspect that the real world flashes we're seeing are actually not "what would have happened if the explosion worked", I reckon somethings going to happen at the end of the series, in the other scenes, on the island, that will be continued by the off-island scenes we've already seen.

See I'm not at all convinced the island was blown up. In the Premiere it showed the island as being under water in the ocean, but all the structures such as the dharma houses, the statue leg etc were perfectly intact. If a hydrogen bomb was detonated on the island it certainly wouldn't sink it with all the structures perfectly intact as much as it would blow it to kingdom come and you'd be left with a large crater at best.

That said, I'm not sold on the idea of it being the future either but I guess its feasible, LOST is pretty notorious for crazy plots and some sort of mass memory wipage by the island and sinking itself by whatever mechanism is certainly no more crazy then much of what has gone on so far.

apparently it's been said that the split timeline will be joined a third of the way through the season.

i keep having moments of "hey it's been a while since new lost episode" and hoping i forgot to watch this week's episode, so that i have a new one to watch right now

Yeah Lost was much less frustrating when I was two seasons behind and I could just watch hours and hours of "new" episodes whenever I wanted.

The Evilocke character isn't tied to the fact that he's unnamed, Gwahir. Every other character just seems to ignore that he should even have one.

It's one thing if they were constantly wondering "What the fuck is this non-Locke thing in Locke's body's name" and were intentionally misled and/or ignored, but the characters continually omit that little detail about meeting a new person.

Guess cause they want to suprise us with him being named Christian or something.

jacob is really jack, and evillocke is really locke.

well in fact i won't because this episode had some really terrible dialogue and was written and directed generally much worse than the rest of this season (and than what i can remember of the last couple of seasons).

they could artfully avoid naming him, but they certainly didn't achieve that this episode

Also, was it just me or did Miles seem to know where he was going? I don't remember Hurley showing him the secret tunnel.

i agree with kt (having not seen the preview for myself)

they only refer to what was in the promo for the next episode. so they're not strictly "spoilers", and knowing lost, it's a mislead anyway. still.

My bad I didn't think the previews that play after the show were spoilers. But yes it must be mislead I dont think it will happen like they say.
