Well, if the uninitiated can't grasp the character, it's possible that it was written or portrayed badly. It's also possible that the uninitiated wasn't watching closely enough, but that they don't know better is no reason to disregard their point of view.

Again, the movie was terrible, but the one redeeming factor was that Thomas Jane portrayed Frank well. Everyone is welcome to their opinions, but if someone goes to see the hulk and feels that he's too angry so they don't like it, their opinion doesn't matter.

It's not that he was cold and emotionless, I understand that that is what the Punisher is, it's that he didn't make me believe it. An actor's job is to make what is on the screen as real for me as they can. He just didn't sell it. I don't think that the character he portrayed felt real at all, it felt like he was acting. That was why he sucked. Also, the plot was loose at best and the writing was god awful. That movie produced some terrible dialogue. They took a very cool superhero and made him into a second-rate movie.
