Theres not that many animals around, just the occasional one. Still, just use a melee weapon, its not a hassle or anything.

I thought the voice acting was pretty good to be honest.

It threw me for a loop when I heard Jonas' voice come out of a random caravan traveler's mouth. The game pretty much reuses a relatively small pool of voice actors for every single character.

Like tenpenny tower, every guard had the same voice.
