Yeah, diamond skin and wormhole are great defensive skills. Unfortunately they mean nothing as of Act IV hell when even the most basic of enemies can shatter through diamond skin like it was paper and can teleport just as well as you can. I'll probably have to trade in some DPS for survivability if I want to solo Act IV hell, but it's probably easier to find a friend who's a good tank.

Also sycld, if the auction house is ever up again you should go buy some new gear because you should be tearing through enemies on nightmare like a kleenex at a snot party.

    Sweet Enola Gay, son!

I'm doing better as a Wizard now after changing some things with my build. I'm not at my PC right now, but I think it's something like this (keeping in mind I'm only like level 36):

I think I'm using Familiar with Sparkflint, at least, but I'm not certain. And when I get to level 57, I'm definitely getting the Thrown Blade rune for Spectral Blade.

I'm trying a Witch Doctor too, and actually I'm enjoying them more now than I did before.

    EDIT:
By the way, about Diamond Skin: because of the nature of damage reduction from armor and resists, even if DS's damage absorption cap remained the same, the effective amount of damage it absorbed would go up linearly with armor and resistance. By "effective damage absorbed", I mean the amount dealt before taking into account damage reduction effects. Thus Diamond Skin remains effective throughout the game, and can be made more effective if more emphasis is placed on armor rather than Vitality.

Well, actually, it's always preferable to increase effective health with more armor than to increase your health pool size with Vitality. Again, by "effective health," I mean the amount total amount damage you can soak up, which is reduced by damage reduction before being deducted from your health pool. The reason why armor is better is because it increases the effectiveness of non-scaling healing and damage absorption effects. This is because the damage reduction from armor makes each point of health represent a higher amount of pre-DR damage.

    Just discussing Wizard tactics.

I like this build, though I usually play with my friend who's a Demon hunter and he DPS's while I disable.

Electrocute attacks pretty quickly, and with 8% stun I find it quite useful. Teleport is fun, I usually use diamond skin or something else for fun. But Push and Ice is always a must for me. Blizzard helps when I can get them on a chokepoint. That 20% freeze is useful while Freeze is down, and since I attack so fast with electrocute and get 4 mana per hit, it's pretty good for me. I just don't do much damage =/, but I can usually handle my own in nightmare solo. But when I play with my friends, I'm basically just a disabler.
