Yea but the shot gun wad isn't too big for the barrel like a rifle or pistol. For example a .50 cal barrel is .5 inches. But the bullet is .51 inches. It gets crushed and fits into the rifling making a very airtight seal. Shotguns not so much meaning that gas can get through the sides. I'm gonna do so e research on this later.
