There is no doubt that this is a PC game at its heart, and if you get a console version, you're definitely buying a console port of a PC game. Combat is most tactical on the PC version, and it has been made somewhat easier on consoles due to the impracticality of constantly pausing. However, from what I've read, the gameplay is still good on consoles even if it is not as good as on the PC. Graphics are also best on the PC version.

I recommend buying the PC version, but if you have to buy a console version, you're still going to get a great and engrossing game.
