I recently played HL2 and the accompanying episodes. That and Portal are some of the most fun I've had playing games in a long time, and it had a story I enjoyed. If I were any nerdier, I'd get a HL logo tattoo.

Do you have Civilization 5? If you do, then play me in a match when I get back to America. To me there is something about the Civilization series, and 4X TBS games that are so much more fun than RTS games.

yeah it's pretty annoying at times but I'm too addicted to quit. I'd never be able to play counter-strike at 13 fps but minecraft is more forgiving

No, if I remember right ep1 was very much a tech preview disguised as dlc and my computer at the time was barely running HL2 well (as in fast enough to enjoy, not as slow as my current computer runs minecraft) so I didn't want to just disappoint myself with the dlc. Basically I had my desktop, played hl2, stuff happened such that I quit using my desktop and moved to a laptop with way more portability and processor but way less graphics and here I am.

The plus side is that now x years later I get the software for way cheaper and could probably piece together a computer with monitor capable of playing them at max settings for less than $1000.
