Didn't know whether we were talking series or movies.
Hajime no Ippo is good.
Plus it seems they will be restarting the anime in January so there will be more of it soon.
probably strike witches
dragonball z
I don't know anything about anime, so I will just list the anime stuff that I've been forced to watch that didn't make me want to kill myself.
Samurai Champloo
Paranoia Agent
Avatar: The Last Airbender (does this even count? lulz)
Cowboy Bebop (the movie, not the show)
Yes, forced to watch. I really enjoyed Samurai Champloo because it helped me get over the idea that all anime is Pokemon. The Cowboy Bebop movie did the same thing. And Paranoia Agent was totally fucked up and macabre, which surprised me (in a good way).
But Avatar? You know, for being a Nickelodeon show, and for being geared towards a younger audience, I really felt like it was good. I downloaded the entire series and watched it in order with my boyfriend, and by the end of the first season, we were totally hooked. Yes, it can be goofy, but the overall story arch is fairly awesome. Of course, now I am outraged to learn that M Night Shyamalan will be directing a trilogy of live action films based on the show. But whatever, the series itself was pretty $.
I'm with Sole on this one. While Avatar technically isn't anime, it is chock full of eastern influence. The character development is remarkable, the continuity is so complete it is noteworthy (nothing that ever happens in the series is forgotten by the plot by the end), the action is exciting, and it is shockingly deep. While it may be a Nickelodeon show, I think there is a lot there for older crowds. Maybe even moreso than for the younger audience, as they won't understand most of it.
Cowboy Bebop.
And that's all!
I'm sure there are some other good ones but I haven't seen them.
