Well I mean we're both perfectly capable of fishing, and I think it would be easier to get on-shore from a boat to get supplies from a survivalist standpoint that it would be staying in an urban area. It's a sailboat, so not only is it durable and equipped for living, it's also very energy efficient (yes, modern sailboats also have emergency engines.)

I mean I look at it this way: the fewer the people around, the less likelihood of zombies. The more remote your location, the less likelihood of the zombie plague reaching it, the less likely any person would contract it, the less likely it would spread from the first contraction (the danger of infection comes from there being multiple zombies; a single zombie is easy for even an amateur to kill.)

A boat, especially a sailboat, would be easy to pull up to shore, replenish supplies (namely, freshwater in the event the purifier stops working), and leave. It's versatile enough to use shores rather than harbors (harbors imply a greater population, which is a greater risk.) Even if one were forced to use a harbor, a harbor will always have a multitude of boat-related supplies, living supplies, and fuel, and the harbor itself is relatively unpopulated and still low risk. I wouldn't want to venture far out of the area, but if nothing else you could salvage other boats.
