A simple question...
Why is the the only forum that I have ever seen that uses youtube tags? All of the other forums I post on use the embed link already POSTED ON THE YOUTUBE PAGE.
Do you realize how many noobs this confuses?

what one can do is change the regex to allow a full url or whatever you paste from youtube as well, before the html filter kicks in
And? The other forums Im referring to enable HTML so you can use that code.

Enabling HTML is a horrible idea. Anyone who has been on a forum with HTML code on can attest to this.
Obviously. Matter of fact I think the last board I was on that enabled HTML was in 1999 and it no longer exists.

I dont know shit about HTML vz VB code. So why does HTML suck?
And I was looking at the other forums I was talking about, and they have HTML enabled only in the video forum.
HTML doesn't suck, but it opens up the forum to a number of vulnerabilities and general asinine posts. (think blink and marquee)
Enabling HTML so it's safe to use would require work. (Same with something easier than youtube tags)
Enabling html on this forum with our community is in the top three worst ideas I've ever heard, right behind using my own defecation as sustenance and sticking my dick in a blender.
I think it sounds like a damn good idea. lol
It would start out as a nice little feature and quickly snowball into the worst idea on the internet.
