Laptop anti-theft?

There are a lot of robbery's around where I live. My laptop is the most expensive thing I've ever bought.

So is it worth looking into anti-theft solutions for my laptop?

If so...

Any suggestions?

maybe something like this, but this is more for deterring opportunistic thieves from running off with your laptop when it's in public rather than when it's in your house.

Insurance is your best bet, though leaving it in a discreet place is probably as good as any product available.

google property insurance, check yellow pages etc.

make sure it's right next to the laptop so that's it's in easy reach if you ever need to defend it

also make sure to put up a colorful sign that says "HERE IS GUN NEXT TO LAPTOP" in case you forget

Cable lock a ferocious dog to it. Tie an M249 to the dog's back with a string attached to the dog's tail and the trigger.

Don't leave it unattended in plain site and you shouldn't have any problems.

yes. make sure the site you leave it in is not plain but decorated with fancy flowers and cotton ball clouds.

or at least surrounded by trees or on a mountain or something

actually those are terrible ideas i know a man whose laptop has bear bites in it from being in that situation
