Ah, that makes sense. Yeah, I've always gotten shitty check weld when using optics mounted on an A2-style carry handle, so I'd imagine a reflex sight on top of a scope ring would have a similar problem. If the cheek weld issue proves to be a dealbreaker, you could always go with a larger reflex sight (EOTech, Aimpoint, etc.) mounted directly on the top rail, with a magnifier on a flip-to-side mount ahead of that. It'd still let you transition from medium-power magnification to CQB reflex sight use without removing anything from the gun.
