Homogeneous copper bullets tend to be designed for hunting, where their slower deformation allows deeper penetration into big animals. There are a few homogeneous copper SD/LE bullets on the market (TAC-XP from Barnes, etc.) but most high-quality self defense ammo still uses lead-cored bullets because they're denser.
