Michael Moyer, at Scientific American, calls this “the best video of Earth from space ever made,” and it’s hard to disagree. It was fashioned from photographs taken by the crew of the International Space Station from August to October. “refurbished, smoothed, retimed, denoised, deflickered, cut, etc.” — and added a soundtrack.
Highlights include several instances of the Aurora Borealis, as well as the lesser known Aurora Australis. Not to mention, as Moyer puts it, “lightning storms like firecrackers”:
