Hey kt you fucking moron by the exact same logic you used, if you had protected me then I would have reported with unerring accuracy. Instead you did something stupid and gambled that MPR made the right choice.
But yeah keep telling yourself that less confirmed information for the town is better you fucking halfbreed halfwit.
VS you don't have to take things seriously to make smart decisions.
But then again I suppose telling an inmate about the ease of making smart decisions is a bit of barking up the wrong tree.
Well I protected you the other nights. I figured Nermy wouldn't try to kill you on the last night.
KT is not new but she is mentally retarded
:/ hey we won, even if my logic was fucked up
What is the point of doing something if you don't try to do it perfectly?
(to end up in the 99%)
KT. and MPR survive and win. Orientals are superior. Suck it whitey, spade, spick, and arabs. We are the champions. KT you are awesome. Don't let all those dead fuckers get you down. You did what you did and you were right for doing it. Also, whatever we were protesting I hope it worked. I thought it was funny Infernus signed up and didn't get to play at all. I'd like to thank Jesus, God, my mom, Obama, and a shoutout to all my friends in the real world and now I'm going to Disney World!
grabs a torch and lights one up as big as his forearm yeahhhhhhh

Hoping woofness draws a picture of his role
Well I'm glad someone has my back, even if it is MPR.
Coq, I wanna see the quicktopic. Also I had fun and would like to play again sometime soon.
You would be better served seeing mine and coq's PMs. Yknow, the ones where I confirmed Nermy was police and guaranteed a victory. And then we called you a moron.
Wrong coq. Her ploy doesnt grant any advantage to the town, and in fact weakens it (by risking confirmed information the journalist provides.) If she blocks the kill on MPR, there's 4 people and three are known. If she protects me and MPR dies, there are three people and two are known. If she saves MPR and I die, then there are three people and one is known. If nermy kills KT, he does us a huge favor (KT is dead, also we know 2/3.)
So explain which scenario is better, KT. Would you rather be guaranteed knowing two of three roles? Or take a chance on a one of three outcome? Because you did the stupid thing, and Nermy did the only thing that could grant him any chance (try to kill the doctor.)
jeez, I'm pretty sure I said that was a dumb move on my part. but if I hadn't here you go: that was a dumb move. I'll do better next time.
KT.'s vote to lynch sponge, my clearance by investigation, and Atmosfear's role left suspicion on woofness and nermy. If there were some kind of continuation of this situation, then I would agree that KT. should have protected you because your utility to the group was vital to survival. However, after Woofness' lynching, as long as we didn't do something stupid like lynch a known protestor, I find that blaming KT. is wholly unfair because no matter what we did the game had already been won. Nermy could have targeted me assuming KT. protected herself, but really it was just Nermy's choice that he'd like to take out the journalist or maybe he just has a hard-on for you.

Thanks for your wrong opinion, MPR, but fortunately endgame scenarios are very simple to model in this game. The value of confirmed information in this game is infinitely greater than that of unconfirmed suspicion... When there are four players--a hidden doctor, hidden cop, declared journalist, and known protestor--you have a guaranteed win so long as the journalist lives (provided he doesn't investigate the known protestor a second time.) If the journalist dies, the town has only "pretty good odds" of winning.
I was only speaking in absolutes because I was certain of well, uh, certain things, and I really believed we had a good hand even if we did lose that hand we would win the pot. I was really banking on KT. being a protestor because she voted to lynch sponge. To do that as a cop that would be ballsy... and well uh certain things have come to light. :embarrassed:
Very ballsy, and an error on my part because I hadn't noticed that. If I had noticed that then I would have certainly remain skeptical of KT. and maybe I would have voted to lynch her instead of you. In hindsight, I'm glad I fucked that up.

Dude, this still requires that the mafia deliberately attack the most likely person to be protected - the confitmed investigator. That's the dumbest thing they could do. The fact that it eorked tgis time defies probability, which is why I found it so funny.
What would've happened is the night attack fails, you have 1 already cleared town, one cleared cop and your tesult, which ends the game for town no matter who you investigate. Stop being butthurt already, sheesh
well coq I don't see how it defies probability. 50% of the non-journalist protestors had been eliminated at that point so assuming the doctor was not an idiot if he/she was still alive (which was a false assumption) I knew there was a 50% chance I would kill atmosfear and he wouldn't be able to reveal that i was a cop / kt was not a cop.
Nermy, this was your first game. Any experienced player playing as mafia would know that a declared cop without counter-claim is going to be protected by the doctor, every night. It's not worth trying to nightkill a player when all available information implies that player is going to be protected.
Generally speaking, the mafia plays "find the doctor" while the town plays "follow the cop". General gameplay, for mafia in your circumstance, is to try to determine who the doctor is and kill them as quickly as possible.
It's worth noting that Atmosfear was protected every other time, except when it mattered lol. Had you tried earlier it would've failed.
What I'm saying is - KT fucked up, but the play isn't an inherently bad one.
Yes it was coq. If KT protects me and Nermy kills MPR, then I successfully investigate one of them and we have 2 known players out of 3. That is game over for the cops.
If KT protects anyone else and the journalist dies, there is only 1 known player (MPR) out of 3 and the cops have a chance, however slight, of the known player guessing wrong.
For Nermy, a blocked kill on me was as bad as killing any other player... If he's blocked, then we know 3 of 4 remaining and he loses anyways.
Yes, I would, if I was guaranteed to lose if the town plays optimally.
KT played suboptimally and Nermy threw up a hail Mary to take advantage of it. What you are missing is that it's a GUARANTEED win if the journalist lives. It doesn't matter what Nermy does, it doesn't matter if he is blocked doing it. If the journalist lives, either by blocking a kill on the cop or killing a protestor or doctor, the game is over.
So yeah when can we play another game?
Write me out of the script
It was a dark and stormy night...
We're just hashing the same things over - you feel as though you should've been protected based on role, and I'm saying that, in spite of what happened, you would've been protected based on circumstance.
It's not optimal to protect the cop every night, it's optimal to ensure the cop stays alive. See the difference? This whole game relies on mindgames - as a doctor, you know they know you're going to protect the cop every night, because that's what seems like the best thing to do is. This illusion of protection has the same effect as actual protection - only the truly insightful and the completely fucking new will ever target a cop for a night kill when they know a doctor's in the game. Missing a target is a massive mafia disadvantage.
KT played suboptimally and Nermy threw up a hail Mary to take advantage of it. wtf? You make it sound like Nermy knew KT wasn't protecting you. Nermy picked you pretty much at random.
I don't get why you're so upset about KT. pulling a stunt that could've worked for not being optimal play, but saying nothing about how suboptimal for Nermy it is to even target you in the first place.
Also you should play in the next game, if your ego deflates in time.
