So I am coming back from hanging out with my friends and I am dropping one of them off. Its about 10:30. It's pretty dark. Now my friend lives in the projects so his drive way is also like 5 other peoples driveways. As I am backing up to leave I look behind me and see a basketball hoop. Unbeknownst to be there is also a black car. I am now turning back around to put the car in drive. I am slowly hitting the break and all of a sudden I hear a noise. Right then I knew I was in deep shit. My friend, who didn't get in his house yet, hears the "crash" and comes to my car.

I go over and I look over at the other guys car. Its pretty old but I couldn't tell you what kind of car it was for the life of me but it wasn't made in the last 10 years. I hit the the left front bumper of this guys car at an angle. I looked at his car and directly under his mirror was this huge dent. I can also see some rust with the little light I have from my cellphone. Now to me, this dent was already here and there was no way I could of caused it. My car didn't look like it had a scratch. So I ask my friend what I should do and he tells me to just get in my car and go. Going against all my morals I got in my car and left.

Was this the right thing to do? If I told the guy he might try to get me to pay for the dent that was already on his car. What would of you guys done/has this happened to you and what did you do?
