I don't think documentary style filming automatically qualifies as breaking the 4th wall. The characters weren't addressing the audience, they were addressing each other and themselves. "Breaking the 4th wall" entails characters acknowledging their own fictionality. (I wrote an English paper over breaking the 4th wall in high school, therefore I am an expert in this topic)
