I thought the Haitian could remove all powers in the immediate area and didn't have to focus on one person.

Apparently, with all of his combined powers Arthur is too much even for the Haitian. I find it weird though that the Haitian could remove Sylar's powers with ease and no strain, yet he barely lasted 5 minutes in the room against Arthur.
