alright well that part I was trolling I don't actually remember what oblivion's graphics looked like
I played a bit more and it's still pretty much identical to oblivion in almost every way gameplay wise. I like being able to dual wield daggers though.
I like wielding magic and a weapon at the same time. Also, I really like the leveling system as opposed to Oblivion. I feel like I can go any direction I choose and play as any style.

oh yeah no doubt about the gameplay being identical to oblivion.
its just that its all done so much better, better dungeons, more variety etc...
i really didn't like oblivion at first, skyrim is what oblivion should have been.

Hey guys is alchemy still broken like it was in morrowind?
Does broken alchemy lead to broken enchanting and infinite money like it does in morrowind?
Did you kill Caesar's Legion and ally with the NCR without guns yet?
i thought the dungeons were smaller than oblivion to be honest. only a couple extra rooms that are tagged onto the main path. i usually find gold and potions, maybe a soulgem or some nice books if im lucky.
also most dungeons have a way out path at the end, saving for tracking back on yourself, which is nice.
no, they have improved the alchemy a lot compared to oblivion. it actually keeps track of what potion effects you've learned now, which is nice.
there is no broken alchemy, i thought enchanting might have a small bug but after further research, turns out it doesn't and all is well.
yes i slaughtered caesar's legion months ago, maybe even a year ago ballistic fist ftw.
they do but only minimaly...potion of smithing, and fortify alchemy enchant.

Completed? Haha, I have like 80 hours into it and haven't completed the 3rd main questline quest yet. I'm gonna have at least 300 hours in this before I'm done.
yeah...i'm on 137 hours played and im on the 11th main quest lol...
i love this game.

I finished the main questline. kinda lost interest in it.
I remember in Oblivion I forgot all about the main quest until I was well over 500+ hours in(I didn't fast travel too much, unless I needed to sell/turn in quests, because I wanted to explore all of Cyrodil), then when I beat that, I went and fucked around some more.
I need to stop checking reviews and shit on this game

I took a break to finish up my Dragon Age Origins game, and I'm almost done with that to get back into Skyrim.

I have read such posts, but I believe that marks them as "idiot."
Oblivion was the same damn elements and environs over and over again.
In Skyrim, there's always something new, it seems, to be discovered.
The only problem I have with these big open-ended worlds is that the conclusion of epic quest chains always are so anti-climatic, as Dai Tengu mentioned with the main quest chain. I haven't finished that one, but I have finished others.
But that's the trade off for making such enormous open-ended worlds.
yeah, I suppose. I tend to only read them after I have played the game for a long while though. Might just be a fear of spoilers.
ah right fair enough. I loved Morrowind and had to wait for four years before I could play Oblivion, wasn't as good as I had hoped but Skyrim is probably better than both (in case you had somehow missed that )
Haven't played the main quest much yet, but done Mages College, Stormcloak and Companions quests which were pretty good, still feels like I have barely scratched the surface somehow.
i must be the only one who didn't hate the main quest -- it wasn't amazing, but wasn't awful
the dark brotherhood one is actually pretty awesome so far too
the civil war one was godawful
did anyone hate the main quest? I love it so far.
doing dark brotherhood quests at the moment, liking it but preferred thieves.
love the civil war, how can you not love the big battles in the cities?

i hate the city battles because you can hardly tell who's on your team and it's just waves of easy, pointless enemies
and well i've heard a lot of hate for the main quest but i thought it was pretty alright.
tbh yours are the first criticisms i've heard about any of the questlines.

I agree with what you said in the spoiler, but I guess that's the nature of these RPGs. For some reason, no matter what your character does, he or she HAS to be the most important person in the world in EVERY organization and EVERY drama ANYWHERE.
I'm still enjoying being a mage, blasting things apart with fireballs. However, I know that soon enough the fun will end as monsters keep scaling up while my spells still do the same damage.
i lucked into some incredible hardware when i did a quest for merida -- her sword, "dawnbreaker". with my various enchanted armours and current one-handed still level (i'm at level 31 but i've pumped my one-handed and destruction skills more than anything else) it does a base of over 80 damage plus burning damage for 12, and if the enemy is undead, they usually explode, hurting any other undead around.
swinging that around means i almost never have to hit anyone more than twice. plus, i've completed the main quest, so i also have dragonbane, which for me does 78 damage plus additional damage of 25 for dragons and 10 shocking everyone else.
my enchanting skills and fighting stats are pretty darn high, so i'll always be a few steps ahead of enemies leveling up with me. to be honest, it makes everything a little less exciting, but it's always funny to decapitate a baddie with your first power attack just as they're in the middle of saying "you made a mistake coming here!" or "you picked a bad time to get lost."
I'm a mage with an impressive swing.
