So you don't neggarep the negga who neggarepped you
Keep track of your point total to see how recent comments affected your reputation.

I don't think you can neg rep someone who has neg repped you in the same thread. Well actually I couldn't pos rep him either.
Drugsandbooze is the same way. When people leave rep they should say who it was in the comment.
I generally just leave my name in the comment, or give a hint as to who it was in my response to the post.

I think the more important question to be asked here is: Why do you guys care about the rep system?
At first, I didn't realize that the rep system didn't show the repper because on my UserCP I see the name. It turns out that's just an admin thing, so my first large batch of reps were unwittingly anonymous. Lately, I tend to leave rep with my name attached. It's up to the person repping.
The anonymity allows people to keep from negavoting each other like children (unless they choose to leave their name in neg rep comments). But it doesn't really allow for any system gaming with positive rep swapping, because admins can see all rep. If a shitty post is being repped, we see that. If you get caught doing that shit, you just get your rep reset. Not a huge deal.
I think the rep system can make people post better. If it makes even the slightest bit of difference, I think it's worth keeping.
How much rep is required to gain bars though? I forget about using rep at this site because every sngle persons rep looks the same. You should use whatever dnb uses, their rep system is pretty good.
Suffice it to say that you if you want know how much rep is necessary to move your bars, just keep tabs on mine because I am busy exploiting the system.
Oh, Atmosfear, you are such a schemer.
uh oh i want to negarep atmosfear for being so smarmy
but i am afraid to play directly into his hands while he games the system
That seems like a lot for a forum of this size. I mean no one has gained 1 yet correct?
I was thinking that maybe having a lower threshhold for rep levels would make a more accurate representation of the poster, due to how infrequently the rep system is really used here anyways, not to mention the size of the forum
but on the other hand, with the system as it is now, those who gained a level really, truly earned it. it's what, 40 +reps at 2 points each to hit level 2, and with the system where there is only like 20~ really active posters that's quite an achievement.
you mean taking 1 minute to do some basic math in your head, biff?
That's stupid. I never even knew I had any rep until recently and now iIwant to know what other people said.
