All that really comes through from your post is, "I don't like marijuana or marijuana smokers, so I will imply that they are immature children." Which is fine - not liking smokers, that is, but I don't know of any solid research that backs up your claim that kids who smoke pot believe they are being more mature by doing so.

Some Most people smoke pot without turning into lowlifes who can't spell or get a job. I know a commercial loan officer at a bank who smokes on weekends - he's in his fifties. I know a successful travel agent in her late 40s who smokes pot, lives in a very nice house, and has quite a few female friends around the same age/income who do the same. I know this is simply anecdotal evidence, and yes - I also know some scummy people who smoke pot all day and never accomplish a damn thing. But the fact that both kinds of smokers exist would seem to indicate, at least to me, that pot isn't the cause for success or failure. Abuse of a drug that isn't physically addictive seems to come down to personal responsibility. Some people naturally have that, and some don't. It's not really fair to assume that no successful adults smoke pot for recreation and relaxation.

That's true, but I was in the special smart program throughout school and made all my friends there. I'm used to being around people with IQs of 140 and up.

In all fairness I was in one of those programs as well, which proves that even if you have a high iq it doesn't necessarily make you smart.

I was eligible to attend said programs but family felt that was unneeded extra stress, what with being diagnosed with diabetes at the same time(March of '93)

I would like to think that I'm in the same position, what with being a PhD student who was the son of two people that met each other as PhD students.

But eh.

And Palin is an moron, no matter what her IQ is.

On the other hand, the Nobel prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman's IQ was only 126. He was a genius, no matter the cutoff is for a genius as determined by some stupid doo-doo head.

Beyond a certain IQ value, increasing the value by 1 point means less and less. In other words, IQ isn't directly proportional to "intelligence."

So Feynman wouldn't have been able to have gotten into Mensa. But he was still a greater genius than almost every single member of Mensa.

Don't put too much stock into IQ scores.
