I'm sure we've all felt some variation of this, except for those of us who are -- heh, forgive the phrasing -- "blessed". It's analogous to the the feeling a physicalist might have, that nobody could be that unlucky, that eventually the law of averages means something good will happen to you to even things out. I'm sure all of us in times of "bad luck" believe, or wish, anyway, that the universe balances out things like that.
